Which schools offer the best translation education?
Looking only in the U.S., there are a number of schools that do this well. Perhaps the granddaddy of them all, in terms of reputation is the Monterey Institute of International Studies in California, but there are others as well. Frankly, I don’t feel that I’m in a position to evaluate who offers the best translation education—and besides, as U.S. News and World Report readers and college-bound students across the nation have discovered, there’s more than one way to determine the best school. Best bang for the buck? Highest salary upon graduation? Most graduates employed in the field within 3 months of graduation? Most undergraduates admitted to graduate school? Most publications by professors? Lowest ratio of students to professors? Or what?
