Certificate in Translation - What Are The Options?
There are not many options when you are looking to complete a certificate in translation because the industry is so spread out across the world. There are some categories of certificate programs to consider and we cover these within this article:
Translation Certificate Programs: One common type of program is a translator certificate which can be earned online, through a community college, or a university. Typically completing such a program requires traveling to a campus, commuting for examinations and completing the course on the school's time table so it is not easy for everyone with a full time job or family to complete.
Translation Certifications: These are programs which certify your ability to translate and/or hold a certain level of translation knowledge. These programs can help boost your credentials, qualifications, and resume to make your bio more competitive against others in the industry. Typically these programs including audio expert interviews, video modules, and flexible examination schedules. Those programs which are offered online provide the most flexible experience possible.
Translation Training Online: The last category would be completing general online translator training programs. The are very flexible, typically involve no examination and are usually made up of video modules which cover general translation best practices and guidelines. While there are some popular translator training platforms out there they are typically embedded within well known certification programs.
Hopefully by knowing about these three categories of translation training and certificates available you will be able to more carefully and intelligently decide which is best for you.
